KALIDA (WLIO) — Kalida wasted no time getting its offense going, scoring early and often in a 12-1 win over McComb in five innings at Holy Name Ballpark.
Jaxon Hoffman opened the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the first inning, bringing home Zach Unverferth. Adam Bockrath later scored on a heads-up baserunning play before Gavin Leis added another run with a shot down the left field line to cap a three-run frame.
The Wildcats kept the momentum in the second inning, as Logan Kerner drove in two runs with a double over the center fielder’s head. Bockrath followed with an RBI single to extend the lead.
Kalida improves to 1-0 on the season with the run-rule victory.
