LIBERTY CENTER, Ohio (WLIO) — In one of the most anticipated Division V matchups of the season, Liberty Center delivered a commanding performance Friday night, rolling past previously unbeaten Liberty-Benton 42–10 in a showdown of undefeated powerhouses.

Both teams entered the regional matchup with elite defensive résumés, each allowing less than a touchdown per game. But it was Liberty Center — the same program that ended Liberty-Benton’s season a year ago — that again asserted control.

The Tigers struck first when Baxter Barrett broke free for a 19-yard touchdown run, aided by a key push from his offensive line, giving Liberty Center a 7–0 lead. The home team extended its advantage when Garrison Kruse powered between the tackles for another score, making it 14–0.

Liberty Center continued to overwhelm the Eagles in all phases. Thomas Mohler added a highlight-reel moment, returning a punt 60 yards for a touchdown to stretch the Tigers’ lead even further.

Liberty-Benton, which entered at 12–0, struggled to gain momentum against Liberty Center’s relentless pressure. The Tigers closed out the night with a decisive 42–10 victory.

The loss ends Liberty-Benton’s season at 12–1, while Liberty Center advances with its unbeaten run intact.
