LIMA, Ohio — Mary Kelly Mulcahy came up just short in her bid to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Amateur on Tuesday, but the Lima Central Catholic graduate and current University of Findlay standout still earned recognition as the second alternate.
Playing in a one-round qualifier at Shawnee Country Club, Mulcahy carded a 73 — one over par — finishing just two strokes behind the top qualifier. The top two golfers secured automatic berths into the national championship event, while the next two were designated as alternates in the event of a withdrawal.
Mulcahy, a key contributor for the Findlay Oilers during the collegiate season, has consistently performed at a high level across both amateur and NCAA events. Her performance in Lima continues a strong summer stretch of competitive play.
