ADA, Ohio — The Ohio Northern Polar Bears found their rhythm at Dial-Roberson Stadium, earning a 33-13 victory over Heidelberg to secure their first win of the season.
ONU wasted no time on the opening drive, as Louie Blasiole powered across the goal line to give the Polar Bears a 13-0 first-quarter lead.
The defense stepped up in the second quarter, with A.J. DeSousa delivering a big hit to force an incompletion and stall a Heidelberg drive.
Quarterback Sam Feldman then connected with Kameron Cox from one yard out to extend the lead before halftime, sending ONU into the locker room up 19-7.
The Polar Bears controlled the second half on both sides of the ball, pulling away to seal the 33-13 victory.
With the win, Ohio Northern improves to 1-1 and will look to build momentum moving forward.
