COLUMBUS, Ohio — (WLIO) With one week left before “The Game,” top-ranked Ohio State stayed locked in and businesslike, rolling past Rutgers 42-9 on Senior Day at Ohio Stadium.

Lima Senior graduate Diante Griffin was among the honorees pregame, taking the field with his family as the Buckeyes capped their home schedule.

The scoring started early on Ohio State’s second possession. Freshman running back Bo Jackson sliced through the Rutgers defense for a 16-yard touchdown, putting the Buckeyes ahead 7-0.

In the second quarter, quarterback Julian Sayin continued his standout season. The sophomore found Brandon Inniss in the back corner of the end zone for a perfectly placed toe-tap touchdown—Sayin’s 26th passing score of the year. Ohio State carried a 14-3 advantage into halftime.

The defense sparked more momentum out of the break. Caden Curry forced a fumble and recovered it himself, setting up another Buckeye touchdown moments later. Sayin connected with Max Klare on an 11-yard strike to extend the lead to 21-3.

From there, it was all Buckeyes. Jackson powered in his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter, finishing with over 100 rushing yards as Ohio State pulled away.

The Buckeyes remain unbeaten at 11-0, setting the stage for next weekend’s highly anticipated showdown with Michigan.
