FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — Week one of high school football brought plenty of highlights across West Central Ohio, but one play stood above the rest. Liberty-Benton senior Seth Elchert is the winner of this edition of the K&M Contracting Play of the Week after pulling off an incredible one-handed touchdown catch in the Eagles’ 35-0 shutout victory over Ottawa-Glandorf.
In the second half, with Liberty-Benton already up by four scores, Elchert hauled in the spectacular grab and took it the distance.
The play not only extended the Eagles’ lead but also energized the crowd and his teammates — even as a late cramp slowed him down after crossing the goal line. The touchdown capped off a dominant performance for Liberty-Benton, who improved to 1-0 on the young season.
Elchert and the Eagles will look to keep their momentum rolling in week two when they travel to face Columbus Grove. Congratulations to Seth Elchert, our first Play of the Week winner of the 2025 season.
