Play of the Week 01/11/26: LCC’s Dom McKee makes not one, but two huge blocks vs. Columbus Grove
- Updated
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — One defensive stand made all the difference, and it was more than enough to earn this week’s K&M Contracting Play of the Week honors.
Lima Central Catholic junior Dom McKee delivered the moment of the week during the Thunderbirds’ Northwest Conference matchup against Columbus Grove. With the game tied at 40 in the third quarter, the Bulldogs looked poised to grab the lead — until McKee stepped in.
The 6-foot-6 junior erased a Grove scoring chance with a powerful block at the rim, then followed it up moments later with another emphatic rejection on the defensive end. The back-to-back stops ignited the Thunderbirds and swung momentum in their favor.
McKee’s defensive presence anchored a strong second-half push as Lima Central Catholic pulled away late to secure a 63-56 victory over Columbus Grove. The win marked LCC’s seventh of the season and improved the Thunderbirds to 2-1 in Northwest Conference play.
Congratulations to Dom McKee for taking home this week's K&M Contracting Play of the Week honors.
