ELIDA, Ohio (WLIO) – They say dedication pays off—and Addysen Sneary proves it. Four seasons of standout volleyball at Elida, and a flawless 4.0 GPA for the University of Findlay commit.

"Addysen's probably one of our hardest workers in our program," said her mother and Elida volleyball head coach, Traci Sneary. "She's very determined and she's very goal-oriented and when she sets a goal for herself, she's going to do whatever it takes to reach it ."

For senior Bulldog Addysen Sneary, volleyball has been a major part of her life, and she's been a steady presence for Elida all four seasons.

"I have always played volleyball ever since I was little," Addysen said. "My parents put me into volleyball and other sports and so volleyball has just been a part of my life. It's what we talk about at home, it's what I think about at school."

The senior Bulldog's volleyball journey isn't over—Addysen is heading to the University of Findlay.

"Findlay has always been a top program for me and a top school," she said. "And so right when I went to campus for my visit, it definitely felt like home. The people there were very friendly and very welcoming, and I definitely had a connection with the coaches as well as the players."

"I think Findlay is a good fit for her," said Traci Sneary. "She's worked really hard to get there. This has kind of been a goal for her for a long time. So, I'm just super proud as a coach and a parent because it's something special."

On top of being a stellar athlete, Addysen shines in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA. The senior plans to major in biology at the University of Findlay.

"Addysen as a student is incredibly intelligent and she thinks through everything," said Elida English teacher Krissa Worley. "She is a leader in the classroom just through the example that she sets for other students, and she's incredibly open-minded when it comes to discussions and listening to other people's ideas."

"Personally for me, I don't like to procrastinate," Addysen said. "I like to get things done in an orderly manner and I think that helps with the stress and being able to play sports as well as still do good in school."

Through four seasons of hard work and dedication, Addysen Sneary has become more than a player—she's a role model for her teammates.

"I want to be remembered as someone who works hard and shows up and is a big example to the team, and I just hope that people look up to me," said Addysen Sneary.
