NEW KNOXVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) – Consistency, dedication and excellence. Those are the traits that define New Knoxville senior Addison Albers.

From volleyball to basketball and track, this Lady Ranger does it all and maintains a 4.0 GPA. That's why she is the latest McDonald's Scholar Athlete of the Week.

"She's always given 110% no matter what. She's one of my athletes that I don't have to question if she's going to show up and give it her all. I mean, she's always ready to come and ready to perform," said New Knoxville girls basketball head coach Alivia Koenig.

Addi Albers' passion for sports is unlimited. The New Knoxville senior shines when it comes to volleyball, basketball, and even in track and field.

"I do all three, first of all, because I love all three. I love getting to be involved in my community. We need athletes all the time for volleyball, basketball, and track and I find it enjoyable. I love getting to play with teammates and getting to meet so many new people through sports," Addi said.

"Seeing the environment she creates, I mean, it's not one that you see very often and just watching her grow over the years and, you know, I'm excited for this senior year and excited to see her potential and look forward to seeing her grow throughout the next few years," Koenig added.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Addi stands out in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA.

"One of the things that stands out to me about Addi is her work ethic. She does her best at everything she does, works hard, and is always striving to improve and grow," said New Knoxville Agriculture education teacher Dustin Knapke.

Addi adds, "First it's school and then sports come after that. So, when you're in the classroom, it's easier to bring up questions to the teacher. You learn how to work with your classmates better, you're better at projects. It just helps a lot with that communication and teamwork aspect in the classroom."

After graduation, Addi will attend The Ohio State University to major in biology on a pre-dentistry track.

"Ever since I was a little girl, I loved the dentist. I loved how happy it was to just, when she came in and she said, 'Look how beautiful your smile is,' and I want to make people feel confident about their smiles too, because that's what makes us who we are," Addi said.

While she's recognized for her talents as an athlete, Addi hopes her true legacy will be the way she supports and inspires others.

"I want to be remembered not just as an athlete, but also as someone off the court who people could always rely on, could always look up to, and could always depend upon to be that person that they need," she said.
