LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Spencerville continued its recent success against Bath on its home floor, pulling away for a 64-40 win over the Wildcats in Lima.
Bath showed early energy in the opening quarter as senior Dagan Hawkins scored in transition with a left-handed floater to give the Wildcats an early edge. Hawkins followed it up moments later by knocking down a three-pointer from the top of the key, finishing with a game-high 21 points.
Spencerville answered behind senior Owen Sensabaugh, who consistently attacked the rim and kept the Bearcats within striking distance early. Sensabaugh led Spencerville with 17 points, providing a steady offensive presence throughout the night.
As the game progressed, Spencerville’s depth and rebounding began to show. Junior Will Sensabaugh capitalized on a second-chance opportunity, slipping past his defender for an easy baseline layup as the Bearcats started to create separation.
Spencerville went on to capture their fifth straight win over Bath, and improved to 10-3 overall.
