LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Shawnee pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Elida 79–50 in the consolation game Saturday, capping a balanced offensive performance highlighted by Trevick Berke’s team-high 17 points.

With both teams turning to their benches late, Elida made a brief push behind senior Marcus Hill. Hill converted a give-and-go for a layup, then stepped beyond the arc and knocked down a 3-pointer after a friendly bounce.

Shawnee responded quickly. Senior JJ Spyker powered through contact for a finish at the rim, and moments later Luke McGuire leaked out in transition for an uncontested layup following a defensive stop.

Shawnee controlled the pace throughout the final period and closed the game comfortably to secure the win.

The Indians improved behind Berke’s 17-point performance, while Elida’s late efforts weren’t enough to cut into the double-digit deficit.
