LIMA — Shawnee picked up a dominant win on the road, sweeping Lima Senior in three sets at Lappin Gymnasium.
The Indians set the tone early with defense, as Gianna Upshaw recorded a block to give her team a 2-0 lead in the second set. Addie Kriegel added to the momentum with a cross-court kill that kept Shawnee firmly in control.
Lima Senior continued to fight, highlighted by Ali VanMeter’s serve that dropped in for an ace to keep the Spartans within striking distance.
But Shawnee’s attack proved too much. Karleigh Hutchins led the way with a game-high nine kills, consistently finding gaps in the Spartans’ defense.
The Indians secured the sweep by scores of 25-8, 25-11, and 25-9.
