LIMA — Spencerville earned a straight-set victory over Perry on Tuesday night, sweeping the Commodores in three games.
The Bearcats set the tone early in the first set as senior Andrea Shaw powered a shot past two defenders to push the lead to three. After Perry cut the deficit to one, Briley Cook responded with a powerful kill that gave Spencerville some breathing room.
Sophomore Alexis Post added to the run with a sharp finish to restore a two-point cushion, and the momentum carried throughout the set. Perry’s Madelyn Bodine briefly halted the surge with a highlight one-handed return at full extension, but the Bearcats controlled the tempo.
Spencerville sealed the sweep behind strong play from sophomore Tatum Schwartz, who found an opening in the defense to cap the win.
