Spencerville tops Jefferson 62-48

DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — Spencerville continued its recent dominance in the series Friday night, defeating Delphos Jefferson 62-48.
The Bearcats have now won six of the last seven meetings against the Wildcats, while Jefferson’s losing streak stretches to five games.
Spencerville set the tone early. Gavin Comer scored 13 points, including a finish off a sharp interior pass to give the Bearcats momentum in the opening quarter.
Jefferson answered from long range. Kellen Carder knocked down a three-pointer as part of his team-high 16-point performance to keep the Wildcats within striking distance.
But Spencerville matched every push. Jude Stemen buried a three of his own and finished with a game-high 22 points. Late in the first quarter, Gavin Howell connected on a step-back triple to pull Jefferson within one after eight minutes.
