FINDLAY — Tyler Johns was formally introduced to Northwest Ohio on Tuesday, returning to Findlay for his first press conference as the Oilers’ new head football coach.

Johns is no stranger to the program. A Waynesfield-Goshen graduate, he played at Findlay from 2009 to 2012 under former head coach Kory Allen. During his senior season, Johns earned All–Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors as an offensive lineman.

Following his playing career, Johns moved directly into coaching, beginning a path that took him through several levels of college football. His coaching stops include Iowa Western Community College, the University of Illinois, Ohio Dominican and Tiffin.

Most recently, Johns served at Gardner-Webb University, where he was named interim head coach after spending two seasons as the program’s offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

Johns returns to Findlay bringing experience in developing offensive linemen and building productive offenses across multiple collegiate programs as he takes over leadership of the Oilers.
