The signs of the first day of spring, may not have been found in the trees, but at ArtSpace Lima. The downtown art gallery kicked off the 70th annual Spring show with a reception Sunday afternoon. The show was started by some local painters before ArtSpace was even formed and has been continued by the local art community ever since. Artists from a 100-mile radius were able to put their best works up to be judged. Around 110 works of art are on display, in a variety of different type of art forms.

“We have just about everything, sculpture, watercolor, ceramics, there is just a nice example of everyone’s work, but we do not designate categories,” says Sally Windle, Ex. Dir. ArtSpace Lima. “If you do wood burning for example, you can enter that. The judge had just one criteria, and that was to make a good show. So anything that was entered and met that criteria, it got in the show.”

Joe Bonifas won Best of Show for his Organic Table Series. If you would like to check out this sculpture and the rest of the pieces in the Spring Art show, they will be on display until April 23rd during Art Space’s normal business hours which are 10am to 5pm Tuesday through Saturday.
