Attorney General Dave Yost says meth surged in 2024 as the task forces seized over 1,100 pounds of the drug off Ohio streets, which is up from 350 pounds in 2023. They also seized over four and a half million dollars in currency and 26 thousand prescription pills.

The number of overdose deaths has dropped significantly in Ohio in the last couple of years. Yost says that is partially due to the efforts of the task forces across the state taking drugs off the street.
