LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Public Library knows how to rev up kids' excitement. Saturday morning, the library hosted a Touch-A-Truck event for families and individuals of all ages to enjoy. The event offered a unique opportunity to explore and learn about different types of trucks and work vehicles. Children got a chance to see these vehicles up close, climb aboard, and meet the operators who work with them on a daily basis. The event featured a wide range of vehicles, from towering crane trucks to rugged Humvees.
"We think it's a great way for kids not only to have fun but they're able to interact with your community helpers like policemen and firemen. But also, they see a lot of vehicles that are on the road that they might never be able to interact with, like semis, plows, or stuff like that," stated Liz Winhover, Director of Public Relations.
The Lima Public Library plans to host more touch-a-truck and similar events and is currently seeking feedback from the local community for ideas.
