VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — A Michigan man serving jail time for a fatal crash in Van Wert County last year is now facing new charges related to child pornography.
Timothy Kiester, 61, has been indicted by a Van Wert County grand jury on 15 counts, including multiple charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor and the illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the judge set his bond at $50,000.
According to the indictment, the material was discovered following the fatal crash on Oct. 21st, which killed Zachary Wood and Logan Elder, both of Van Wert County. Wood’s car was stopped to turn when Kiester, who was driving a pickup truck pulling a camper, struck the back of Wood’s vehicle, pushing it into the path of an oncoming semi.
Kiester was sentenced to 90 days in jail for the crash. His pretrial hearing on the new charges is scheduled for April 9th.
