A Michigan man was killed in a single car crash on I-75 on Friday

ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Michigan man was killed in a single-car crash on I-75 on Friday. According to the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, just before 4 pm., 88-year-old Russell Norman was driving south on I-75 when his car drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree. He was transported to Lima Memorial where he was pronounced deceased. The crash remains under investigation. 

December 15, 2023 Press Release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Richland Township The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 75 South in Richland Township, Allen County on December 15, 2023 at approximately 3:44 P.M. 

A red 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Russell Norman, age 88, of Prudenville, MI, was traveling south on Interstate 75. Mr. Norman drove off the right side  of  the  roadway, striking the ditch and a tree. Mr. Norman was  transported  to  Lima  Memorial  Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

The Ohio State  Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene  by Beaverdam-Richland Township Fire and EMS and Kenny’s Auto Wrecking. 

The crash remains under investigation.
