LIMA, OH (WLIO) - City Life of Lima is calling for prayers for our youth and community.
On September 28th, a 17-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound in the right leg in the parking lot of City Life Rally Point Youth Center. The injuries were not life-threatening, and he was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita's for treatment. In response to the shooting of the teen and other recent shootings, City Life and local pastors will host a Rally Cry event for the community to help inspire change in Lima.
"Ephesians 4 makes it very clear that we are to walk worthy of our calling in which we've been called in lowliness and gentleness, longsuffering, bearing one another in love. It talks about keeping the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. And so this is what this is about is bringing together people of the community just to pray over their own communities. I think if we begin to see that as an obligation rather than an option, I think we'll begin to see change in our community," explained Junior Ramos, director of City Life.
The Rally Cry will begin at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, October 7th. All residents of the Lima area are encouraged to attend.
