LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It's a chance for neighbors to get to know their neighbors.
It was a hit last year and they plan for it to be bigger this year. The Dr. Martin Luther King Neighborhood Association is holding an impact community event to celebrate living in Lima. Along with food, games, and raffles, the pond will be stocked and kids will be able to learn how to fish.
"It brings great joy to us. It's something that's positive and it brings the families together in a positive way and just having a good time. And especially seeing the kids, you know, coming together, playing, getting along. The neighbors, some neighbors didn't even know each other and this was a way to bring them together," Onedia Cobb, MLK Neighborhood Association.
An impact grant from the City of Lima is funding the event. So mark your calendar for Saturday, October 8th as the Dr. Martin Luther King Neighborhood Association's impact community event will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park. The public is invited to attend.
