The 2019 Allen County Fair has come and gone, and now the fairground is getting ready for the second biggest event of the year.

Fairgrounds staff, as well as vendors, were out early this morning cleaning out stalls and putting away equipment. This year's fair broke a lot of records. Attendance was up by 15,000 with more than 198,000 people who attended this year.

Overall the general manager says he is very pleased with how the fair turned out.

“Very exciting year for us,” said Bob Fricke, Allen County Fairgrounds general manager. “It was the first time doing alcoholic beverages at the concert. Good news there are those preliminary numbers are in and we generated 47 thousand dollars that will be used throughout the facility.”

Next Friday thousands of people will begin pouring into the fairgrounds for Max's Trader Days and water dog races.

The event will offer vendors, traders and a water dog competition.
