ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Allen County getting a piece of the state's 95 million dollars allocated to the 2023 Lead Safe Ohio program.
County commissioners are working with the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership which was allocated money for eight counties. Allen County getting just over a million dollars to be used toward the remediation of lead paint in residential homes. Commissioners are working with eight local agencies to determine homes that will be eligible for the remediation. They must be built before 1978, owner occupied, and homes with children 6 years of age take priority.
