LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A farm at Indian Lake took away the honors for biggest pumpkin over the weekend at Pumpkin Invasion in Downtown Lima.

The Great Pumpkin Commonwealth is an group of growers who specialize in growing pumpkins including giants. The winning specimen came in at 1,317 pounds garnering a $2,000 prize. It was grown at Autumn Meadows Farm and was planted in April. The weigh off brought in a half dozen giant pumpkins along with field pumpkins, other gourds and even a giant watermelon.

The winning specimen came in at 1,317 pounds garnering a $2,000 prize.

The best professionally carved pumpkin went to William Wilson from Cincinnati with his large fish. Organizers says the first pumpkin invasion was a success and plan to bring it back next year bigger and better.
