LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Agriculture and Fine Arts Building on the north end of the Allen County Fairgrounds was buzzing with activity as fairgoers checked out a wide variety of exhibits.
The building features everything from bees and giant pumpkins to artwork and quilts. It is also home to projects completed by adults and children competing in the open class competitions.
Many of the exhibits have been staples at the county fair for generations, and organizers say they continue to grow in popularity.
Vicki Hauenstein, fine arts superintendent, said many of the traditions are being carried on from previous generations.
“They are because our grandmothers, our great grandparents are the ones who kind of started it. We have to keep it going because it's just one of those things. There's so many canned goods this year, they had to add tables to put it on.”
More judging is scheduled throughout the week. The Tablescapes and TV Tray Decor competition and the third flower show will take place Thursday at 1 p.m.
