LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Area business leaders learned how they can help employees grow as leaders both in the workplace and throughout the community during Thursday morning's Wake, Rattle, and Roll event hosted by the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce.

Matt Childers, executive director of the Allen Lima Leadership program, known as ALL, spoke about the organization's mission of developing leaders who make a positive impact across Lima and Allen County.

Childers explained the program is built around four pillars — lead, connect, grow and serve — and gives participants the opportunity to learn about the community through monthly sessions focused on topics including education, economic development and criminal justice.

Participants spend one full day each month exploring local issues while building relationships with other professionals from a variety of industries.

Over the years, more than 1,200 people have graduated from the nearly 40-year-old leadership program.

"We're hard-pressed to find anybody in any organization that doesn't have somebody who's participated in ALL. And it's just been a dynamic program for almost 40 years now. And we're really proud to know that we'll be continuing it. And we started right back up in September," Childers said.
