LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Apollo Career Center is expanding to address the growing demand for skilled workers in the area.

The center hosted the Lima Kiwanis Club for its weekly meeting, where school officials provided updates on ongoing projects, including the Public Safety Training Center currently under construction.

The new facility will serve as the home for Apollo’s Fire and EMS training programs, the Adult Criminal Justice program, and the truck driving program. Additionally, it will house a new high school Criminal Justice program, which is already fully enrolled ahead of its launch in the fall of 2025.

This marks Apollo’s second major addition in the last decade as the institution continues to adapt to the region's workforce needs.

Apollo Career Center continues to expand to meet the community needs

The new facility will serve as the home for several of Apollo’s training programs.

“We pride ourselves on being able to help the community first. That is what we are here for,” said Maria Rellinger, treasurer and CFO of Apollo Career Center. “We are a public entity funded by taxpayer and state dollars, and we want to give that all back to the community, whether helping companies, individuals, or both.”

Construction on the Public Safety Training Center is expected to be completed in time for its debut during “ApolloPalooza” in April.
