BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) — Bluffton University is launching several new initiatives aimed at preparing students for the future, regardless of their backgrounds.
The university’s “Pillars of Purpose” campaign is designed to strengthen Bluffton’s foundation, build community trust, and inspire students to realize what’s possible. The pillars — stability, trust, hope, and compassion — are intended to guide the university forward for future generations.
Bluffton is also introducing multiple scholarship programs that range from several thousand dollars to full tuition, helping remove financial barriers for qualifying students. Dr. Alex Sider, president of Bluffton University, said the goal is to create an environment where students can thrive.
“What we want is for a student who comes to Bluffton to experience Bluffton as a place where they can plug in and thrive and know that they are cared about and cared for.”
The “Pillars of Purpose” campaign is a one-year, $1.2 million fundraising effort that will support classroom technology upgrades, revitalize the health science program, install a new scoreboard at Salzman Stadium, and renovate the Shoker Science Center.
