BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) — Bluffton University is focusing on developing students who are prepared to make an impact on the world around them.
During the State of the University address, President Alex Sider said the university spent the past year doing the hard work needed to put Bluffton in a position to choose its future.
Sider said the university is not looking to become a different institution, but instead wants to focus more on developing relationships between students and others so they can make a difference in the world beyond college.
The university's theme for this year involves practicing integrity in the age of AI, which officials believe aligns with the education Bluffton University provides.
“You know, the relational focus that we have here at the university is something that we think, in fact, people and our communities need more of in a space where we are constantly being bombarded by all kinds of inauthentic and manipulated relationships and pieces of information vying for our attention,” says Dr. Alex Sider, President Bluffton University.
Sider says students should ask themselves and others important questions while also understanding that the challenges they face will help determine who they will become when they graduate.
