LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The City of Lima has announced that its annual leaf pickup program will begin next week.

Starting Monday, November 17, city crews will begin collecting leaves in the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th Wards. Residents in those areas are asked to rake their leaves to the curb lawn — not into the street — to ensure a smooth and safe collection process.

City officials remind residents to keep leaf piles free of rocks, limbs, grass clippings, and other debris, as only clean leaf piles will be collected. Improperly prepared piles may be left behind until they meet the collection requirements.

For those who prefer to dispose of their leaves early, the City of Lima Compost Facility on East Hanthorn Road will accept leaves and tree debris before pickup begins. A copy of the resident’s water bill must be shown when dropping off materials.

Weekly updates will be provided as crews move through different sections of the city.
