LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Public Library is kicking off a colorful summer and encouraging readers of all ages to get involved.

Monday marked the first day of the library’s “Color Our World” summer reading program. Children and families stopped by the library for crafts, scavenger hunts and to pick up their summer reading logs. Throughout the summer, kids can complete activities such as reading, visiting the library or even doing chores to earn prizes.

“They’re off school for the summer, and sometimes reading is lacking because they’re not in school. We just want to keep them reading. It’s fun to read and fun to do different activities during the summer,” said Stephanie James, head of youth services at the library.

The program runs through July 26 and is open to all ages.

Reading logs are available at any Lima Public Library branch. For more information, visit limalibrary.com.
