DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) – Delphos Canal Days officially kicked off Thursday with its annual celebration of the city.

Complete with a circus theme under the big tent, a few hundred people raised their glasses during the Toast on Thursday night. In addition to the community toast, city officials recognized Lou Holman with a key to the city for his years of support.

The Toast marks the beginning of a weekend filled with family activities, fair food and live music under the big tent. Residents of Delphos look forward to the end-of-summer festival each year.

Community spirit on display as Delphos Canal Days begins

“Canal days is one of those events that the whole town can come together and celebrate what is our town, and celebrate everything good happening in the community. It's something that everybody can look forward to and market on their calendars as that one time a year where you can come uptown, see friends you haven't seen in a while and just have a good time,” says Andrew Grothouse, Chairman, 2025 Delphos Canal Days.

The Battle of the Businesses will highlight Friday night’s activities, the car show is Saturday afternoon, and the big parade is Sunday at 2 p.m. For a full list of events, visit www.delphoscanaldays.com
