LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A Lima city councilman is asking for help from the community to assist their fellow neighbors.
Councilman Derry Glenn's Neighbors Helping Neighbors program is in need of monetary donations to help residents 65 and over in low income households get the support they need. Just some of the projects through the program range from installing central air in houses to installing gutters and repairing roof damage. The program helps over 20 residents every year since it began back in 2020.

Councilman Glenn has always been proud of participation from Lima residents to help those in need when they need it most.
"We connected with the Lima Community Foundation, and you will see on the screen where you can send the money into, any amount of money," Glenn said. "It can be 20, it can be 30, can be 40, but we asked corporations, big companies, to donate money. We take pictures of everything we do, we make sure the money is spent right, and when you see a happy face on an elderly person's face saying, 'Thank you', you know you're God sent."
To help the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, monetary donations can be mailed to their account number 00157 at the Lima Community Foundation, 207 West Elm Street 45801. All donations are tax deductible.
