Elida Students Showcase Talent and Creativity at Annual Art Exhibit

The various works, created throughout the school year, included pictures, 3D sculptures, ceramics and mixed media pieces.

Hundreds of pieces of art from students in elementary through high school were on display for parents, grandparents and fellow students to enjoy. The various works, created throughout the school year, included pictures, 3D sculptures, ceramics and mixed media pieces. The exhibit highlighted not only the students' talent, but also the personal creativity they bring to their art.

“Having the ability to use their hands creatively, problem solve and work collaboratively, is such a unique opportunity in all of our art classrooms, and I think that our elementary and middle school teachers do such a great job of building that base and that foundation for our students. Once they reach high school, they have those abilities, and we really just are able to highlight and grow that creative spirit," said Hollie Albright, Elida High School art teacher.

Forbes notes that creative problem-solving, a skill that can be developed through art, is one of the major soft skills employers look for in job candidates.
