LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) -Â Families took advantage of the pleasant weather Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day at Faurot Park.
For many mothers, the day is all about spending time with their families and watching their children learn and grow.
Children played on the playground while their moms looked on, happy to let them burn off some of their seemingly endless energy. One family continued a cherished yearly tradition, enjoying a picnic together — a small way to say thank you for all that mothers do.
"She feeds me every day, she loves me, and I love her, and we've been married almost 55 years. You really notice when they're not around, when they go on vacation or something, then you really appreciate what they do for you," said Louie Boughan, father and husband.
For many mothers, the day is all about spending time with their families and watching their children learn and grow.
"It means the world to me. I love my kids so much. Spending time with them doing things like this, it makes memories for them and for me, and that's what makes life special. Watching your child learn and grow and just realizing their capabilities. You can kind of see the connections happen when they learn something, and it's a very beautiful thing to experience," said Alyssa Curl, mother.
