LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — What began as an effort to share healthcare information with a specific demographic has grown into a citywide event focused on improving overall well-being.
“Bridging the Gap,” a health and wellness expo, aims to promote health equity for the mind, body and soul. The event will be held at the Lima Senior High School cafeteria, where dozens of health-related organizations will provide information about their services and resources.
Organizers say the expo is designed to connect residents with tools and support that could benefit their daily lives and long-term health. Event organizer Cheryl Nagy highlighted some of the activities and services attendees can expect.
“There's going to be health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, diabetes checks. There's going to be a doctor there to talk about health and wellness. We're going to have some fun events like games. Going to have cardio drumming with Lady red,” Nagy said.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
