DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) - When it comes to getting general care from a doctor, sometimes a family physician is the right fit. Dr. Jason Hageman at Delphos Urgent Care is one of those physicians. Dr. Hageman says that the patients he sees on a regular basis run the gamut.
"I see patients of all ages, from newborns all the way up through teenagers, adults and geriatric patients, I also see some sports medicine patients in my office, so I see musculoskeletal injuries as well as take care of concussions," said Dr. Hageman. "My role here as a physician is to see patients, talk to them about either wellness or medical issues they have, and then we work on a plan together to help them feel better."

Dr. Hageman says that the patients he sees on a regular basis run the gamut.
One area of focus for Dr. Hageman is sports medicine, which he received training for after his family medicine residency. He also works with local universities and high school athletic trainers.
"I saw sports injuries, and I wanted to know more about it, and so I learned the anatomy and then the physiology, and it just became so interesting," said Dr. Hageman. "To take that and apply that to patients every day and care for them just made me happy."
Dr. Hageman says that he's happy to help out his neighbors in the town where he grew up. He adds to get your start in medicine, it's important to establish a good jumping off point through someone who has experience in the field.
"I was very fortunate that through my high school and college years, I had a couple of mentors from Lima - an athletic trainer and orthopedic surgeon - that were great mentors, as well as my family medicine physicians that were that I went to," said Dr. Hageman. "St. Rita's helped with some of the costs of college after I got out med school and went into residency and came back to the area."
