LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Housing programs were the main topic on the agenda before Lima City Council's Neighborhood Concerns Committee Thursday night.

The Department of Housing and Neighborhoods provided an update to the committee on the status of some of its top programs. As a result, some programs are not currently accepting new sign-ups until the existing list is processed.

Housing programs update given to Lima council committee

The Department of Housing and Neighborhoods provided an update to the committee on the status of some of its top programs.

"Right now, I want to make sure that I let all the community know that the home update list is not available. That list is closed. We do have some funds in our emergency program, which that program is for water heaters, furnaces, and quick emergencies of that nature. We do have some funds in that part, and we have some funds left also in the pot for landlords—for those that have units that they're going to be turning over," said Carmillia Zion, director of the Department of Housing & Neighborhoods.

Officials hope to complete the current list of applicants by the end of the year and reopen applications next year.
