LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – For a quarter of a century, the Lima Memorial Foundation has invited the community on a journey to help provide state-of-the-art health care in the area.

Around 500 people filled the Apex Sports Zone in Elida for the “Journey to the Max.” With silent and live auctions, organizers hope to raise more than $1 million to buy advanced diagnostic equipment to help keep the locally owned hospital equipped with the latest medical technology.

Journey to the Max helps raise funds for advanced medical technology at Lima Memorial

“Allows us to diagnose diseases and issues quicker, which means we can do a lot more preventative work, especially with our staff and our physicians we have here, here at Lima Memorial, we are the only locally owned and controlled health system. So, it's so important that every dollar we generate goes right back into this community, and that's why I think the community supports us as well as they do," says Mike Swick, CEO, Lima Memorial Health System.

“Just really thrilled that we are able to attract quality physicians and are able to raise funds to make sure we have the right technology to make our patients feel comfortable and get the treatment right here at home,” says Jan Hawk, Chair of the Lima Memorial Foundation Board.

For 25 years, the Journey events have helped the Lima Memorial Foundation fund projects such as an observation unit and a chronic disease management program.
