LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Area Browns Backers continue to score touchdowns against food insecurity.

Sunday marked their annual food drive, during which the group donates an average of 750 pounds of food to the West Ohio Food Bank. While watching the game on TVs at Paddy Mac’s, members also held a 50/50 drawing and raffles to raise additional funds for the organization. The Lima Area Browns Backers aim to support the food bank’s mission, ensuring that people in its 11-county service area have access to the food needed to feed local families.

“They do a lot of great things for this, for the area. I mean, here, Kenton, everywhere. They're just out here doing it. So even though we're watching football and stuff, we still try to do things to give back to the community,” said Jason Davis, president of the Lima Area Browns Backers.

The group has been supporting the West Ohio Food Bank for nearly a decade.
