LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The city of Lima has launched its final Local History Hunt trail, focusing on health and well-being, as part of a broader effort to highlight the community’s historical contributions to wellness.
The new trail features 10 locations across the city, including stops at parks, hospitals, colleges and universities. Each site includes a placard detailing its historical significance and connection to health and wellness in the region.
City officials say the trail is the result of collaboration among several organizations, including the America 250-Ohio Commission, and is designed to showcase how Lima’s past has shaped its approach to community health.
“It represents a collaboration across multiple different organizations,” said Jessica Begonia, public information officer for the city of Lima. “This latest trail is the health and well-being trail, so it really represents all of the different pieces of history that our community has to promote wellness and health.”
The Health and Well-Being Trail is the fifth and final installment in the Local History Hunt series. Residents and visitors are encouraged to complete all five trails and document their visits to earn a set of commemorative lapel pins.
Instructions, maps and full location details are available through the city of Lima and Visit Greater Lima websites, or by picking up a printed guide at the Visit Greater Lima office.
