The five students were honored at the Lima Memorial Auxiliary Summer General Meeting on Wednesday.
"I think it's a pretty good honor; I'm grateful that I earned it because it'll help pay for my school, and the Bonnie Shook scholarship is after a pretty incredible woman so I'm pretty honored," said scholarship winner Isabella Hile.
"It's just heartwarming to see these young people interested in helping adults and others," said Lima Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship Committee Chair Karen Phillips. "Donating, that's the big thing. Donating their time to help the care of patients."Â
The five winners were chosen from 99 applications. Auxiliary members said that they would like to provide even more scholarship money to students next year.Â
