LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Libraries across the nation have seen growing popularity with their seed library events.

The seeds are back and better than ever at the Lima Public Library. This year, patrons can choose from a variety of vegetables, tomatoes, leafy greens, and wildflowers. Due to increased demand, residents are now required to fill out a request form at the library to give staff time to prepare orders, which can be picked up in one to two days.

"I just know that libraries aren't just about books anymore, they are about a multitude of things we can borrow or give our patrons, and see that libraries are just another way to show that we're not just books anymore - we have so much more to offer," said Liz Winhover, public relations for the Lima Public Library. "The world is changing, and the library wants to follow along with that. We're not just the musty old books you hear about, we're a meeting place. We're a place where you can get different items. That's why we have our library of things, and a multitude of things that you can burrow, and see  libraries are another thing where we feel like we can help our community grow in another way."

This Thursday, the library will host a glow-in-the-dark bingo event for kids and families to enjoy. For more information, visit the library’s website at www.limalibrary.com or their social media pages.
