Lima ranked among top five places to live in Ohio by U.S. News & World Report

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – While the City of Lima may sometimes receive a bad rap, a new independent report is shining a positive light on the community.

A recent article by U.S. News & World Report ranked Lima as the fifth-best place to live in Ohio, giving the city a boost in recognition. The ranking was based on data from Applied Geographic Solutions, which analyzed factors such as quality of life, cost of living, desirability, and the job market. Lima received a score of 5.3, earning it a spot in the top five cities in the state.

“What we've been able to see with this new ranking is that people are recognizing what we've known all along, that Lima is a great place to live, work, as well as play,” said Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith. “It is also a testament of all the hard work that we've been doing over the past years to revitalize our downtown, to bring back our neighborhoods, to continue to keep crime down and also to increase the livability in our city.”

Mayor Smith believes the city can continue to climb the rankings with ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, safety, and community engagement.
