LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - When you own a small business, your plans to expand may be limited by your finances. A roundtable meeting was held to better inform business owners about the variety of opportunities that are available locally to help their companies. Some of those include low-interest loans, funding to beautify the exterior of their business, or funding to buy essential equipment. There are also grants for businesses that are minority, women, and veteran-owned.
Experts in Lima and Allen County are available to walk business owners through the process.

“We had, we had Jobs Ohio here and their programs. We had the city of Lima here. We also have a great Small Business Development Center in Allen County. And then our office at the Allen Economic Development Office can at least be a good starting point for companies to come in and talk about what their needs are, and then we try to match them up with the right resource,” says Cindy Leis, president and CEO of the Allen Economic Development Group.
Leis says if small businesses are looking for programs that can help them grow, they should contact the Allen Economic Development Group at (419) 222-7706. The group can point them to the agency that is best suited to help.
