LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — NexGen Research is working to bridge the gap between underserved communities and access to clinical trials through an upcoming health fair and open house.
The organization’s “Discover the Future of Medicine” event will offer residents onsite medical screenings, opportunities to speak with medical professionals and information about upcoming medical trials. Officials with the research organization say the goal is to help residents better understand the clinical trial process and make healthcare resources more accessible to the community.
“We want to make sure that every adult that is interested in trials or has ever been curious about trials knows this is the opportunity to come to us and ask any question you can think of,” said Nneamaka Ezema, Director of Clinical Operations. “It's a drive through opportunity. It's the first of its kind. You'll stay in your car and we'll ask you the screening questions, two minutes tops.”
Organizers say the event is designed to provide a comfortable and convenient way for residents to learn more about medical research and available healthcare opportunities.
The “Discover the Future of Medicine” event will take place Friday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at NexGen Research, located at 658 W. Market St.
