LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Support has continued to pour in for Lima families as part of the Stronger Together Fund.

The Lima-based clinical research network heard the need of donations to help provide food to local residents through Lima mayor Sharetta Smith's call to action with the Stronger Together Fund. Those with NextGen say supporting the food bank is another way they can help improve people's health.

"We are all working together to improve healthcare, and healthcare starts at home, and it starts with the food that we buy and the meals on our table," said Nneamaka Ezema, director of clinical operations for NexGen. "When we heard our patients are concerned with where that food is coming from, we knew we had to step up in some way to help supplement what they need to improve their life."

"The Stronger Together Fund has raised about $25,000, and we are grateful for the members of the community that have stepped up to feed our families that are facing food insecurity," said Smith. "I really want to reiterate that although the federal government is open, we still have families that are in need in our community, and I would encourage individuals to keep stepping up to give to the fund."

The Stronger Together Fund supports local families, utilizes local partners, and is powered by local generosity. All funds received in 2025 will go to the West Ohio Food Bank.
