LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — There are roughly 1,700 job openings within 10 miles of the city of Lima that employers are looking to fill, according to Ohio Means Jobs Allen County.

The agency recently released statistics outlining its accomplishments in 2025. During the year, Ohio Means Jobs Allen County worked with more than 650 employers, hosted 85 recruiting events and workshops, and sent more than 18,000 applications to local employers. Executive Director Joe Patton said a major focus of the agency is investing in workforce development and training opportunities for both individuals and businesses.

"We've invested almost 300,000 a little over $300,000 in the community and training for different companies or people looking to, you know, like LPNs, to RNs, different things like that, to be able to help up-skill people into the workforce," said Patton.

Ohio Means Jobs Allen County provides services to both employers and job seekers, helping connect businesses with qualified workers while also assisting individuals in gaining skills needed for in-demand careers. The agency also partners with area high schools to introduce students to potential career paths and workforce opportunities.
