LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Ottawa Metro Park is gearing up for another busy camping season.
This weekend marks the start of the campground’s 27th season, which runs through mid-October. The self-registering campground features 29 rentable sites, including three handicap-accessible spaces. Each site includes water and electric hookups, along with a picnic table and fire ring. Campers also have access to walking and biking trails, fishing ponds and boating across nearly 300 acres of park land.
“Usually on the weekends, it gets really busy. We’re usually pretty full, but the kids have playgrounds, we have the bike path and the ponds to go fishing in, so there’s always activities for everybody,” said Greg Zack, park supervisor.
Campsites are first come, first served. Visitors can pick up a registration packet at the entrance before choosing an open spot.
Camping rates are $35 per night, with a discounted rate of $30 for seniors 60 and older.
